We are very happy to announce that Orientation will take place on Wednesday, August 8th from 5pm to 7pm and Thursday, August 9th from 10am -12pm.
WHAT IF I AM NOT RETURNING NEXT YEAR?
If you do not
plan on returning next year please email Steve
at firstname.lastname@example.org with
your students name, grade and school
they will attending next year.
We are very excited to introduce a new system for collecting information and paperwork for orientation. We will now have most paperwork completed online! Attached below is a link to complete orientation registration ahead of time. Orientation is still mandatory and completing the online registration is not in lieu of attending orientation. We created the online document to make orientation efficient and to create less of a wait for parents.
You will be asked to upload some documents such as proof of residency (UTILITY BILLS, RENTAL AGREEMENTS, AND MORTGAGE STATEMENTS) and the optional volunteer driver information (driver’s license, car insurance and registration). So plan to have those available when you do the online registration. The best thing to do is scan or take a picture and save it to your computer or Google Drive and then you can upload. Please name your uploaded documents with your STUDENT’S first and last name and what the item (ex: John Smith – Utility Bill).
ANY TIPS FOR ONLINE ORIENTATION?
We have tested the new system and have found that filling out the online form in one setting has been very effective, especially with a computer instead of a cell phone. Please plan a time to sit down and fill out all information accurately without any interruptions. There have been cases when the system has timed out and you have to start over. Also having pictures of the documents you plan to upload ahead of time helps. If you are having difficulty at home you can see us at orientation and we can help walk you through the process. You can go back and make corrections if needed and a copy of your responses will be provided once you reach the end. The form takes on average 10-30 minutes to complete per child, depending on how prepared you are.
WHAT WILL ORIENTATION BE LIKE?
You can begin completing the online registration as of today and you have until Sunday, August 5th at 12 am. Those that complete the online registration by this deadline will be able to jump into the “express lane” when checking out of orientation. You will still be required to pick up a gold registration form (one per student) as soon as you arrive to the school and a presentation by our staff will follow. Class lists will also be posted.
After the presentation parents will be asked to turn in their gold registration forms to the front office staff and check that we have your online registration information complete. If you did not submit your proof of residency online you are required to bring a physical copy with you to orientation, otherwise your registration is not complete.
If you did not do your online registration before hand you will be required to visit a designated room where we will have computers available for you to complete it. We will have a room just for those that need spanish translation and assistance. Once we confirm we have all the information and you turn in your gold registration form you are free to leave. 7th graders will be able to receive their class schedule ONLY if they have provided proof of the TDaP before hand or at orientation.
WHAT IF I CAN’T MAKE ORIENTATION?
If you can’t make orientation please email Steve at email@example.com and then complete your orientation online through the link. Steve will follow up with you if any information is missing or needed.
WHAT IF I AM CONCERNED ABOUT ONLINE PRIVACY?
If you prefer not to use your personal email for whatever reason, you can use the temporary one we created just for orientation. However, you will not received a copy of your responses to your personal email. So we suggest using your own personal email or your students school email. The temp account to use for Orientation will be:
IS ORIENTATION STILL MANDATORY AND CAN MY CHILD(REN) ATTEND?
Once again orientation is mandatory for all parents. Students may attend if they would like; however, no child care will be provided.
If you have any questions we ask that you revert back to this email. Due to a high volume of phone calls and emails during the summer we ask that you review this email with instructions first. If you are having major issues we are happy to help you at orientation. If you can’t make it to orientation and are still having issues please email Steve at firstname.lastname@example.org and he can arrange a time to assist you at the office.
We can’t wait to see you and we are looking forward to getting your kids set up for a fantastic school year!
